Russell Westbrook Retires After Iconic NBA Career

Russell Westbrook has officially announced his retirement from the NBA after an impressive 18-season career. The 37-year-old player shared the news via a farewell video on X, narrated by actor Michael B. Jordan. The video included a poignant caption: “Sometimes you don’t even know when you’ve already watched the end. You had to be there. And now it’s over.”

Westbrook was known for his intense and aggressive style of play, reminiscent of a previous era in basketball. He approached each game with unmatched energy, attacking the rim and playing with urgency. Despite criticism concerning his shooting and turnovers, Westbrook built a remarkable career.

He retires as the NBA’s leading Triple-Double King, with a staggering 209 triple-doubles. This achievement surpasses Oscar Robertson’s previous record of 181.
