Scott Colom’s Historic Senate Race in Mississippi

Scott Colom, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from Mississippi, has the potential to make history. His campaign unites significant Black voter turnout and disenchanted White voters who are considering supporting a Democrat.

On October 14, Colom was seen campaigning alongside Jackson councilwoman Tina Clay. Together, they aimed to gather support and momentum for Colom’s Senate bid.

Michael Ward, a resident of Starkville, Mississippi, showcases the economic struggles faced by many. As he walked by his three farm trucks, all non-operational due to the prohibitive diesel fuel prices, he explained his decision to purchase a red trailer. This trailer allows him to distribute chicken litter on his fields, a necessary step given the skyrocketing costs of traditional fertilizers.
