On Monday morning, a shooting took place at a senior assisted living facility in South Los Angeles. The incident involved multiple victims and necessitated a swift response from LAPD officers to a lobby of the facility.
According to the police, a worker at the facility walked in and opened fire on three coworkers, injuring them, with one victim being critically wounded. This occurred around 11 a.m. at a location near West 70th Street and Denver Avenue.
The shooter, who was employed there, targeted three staff members in the lobby before moving further into the building. Police officers arrived at the scene within two minutes of the emergency call. They found and assisted the three victims, who included a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 60s, and a man in his 60s. The critically injured victim’s identity has not been disclosed.
Officers continued into the building and located the gunman on another floor, taking him into custody. He was described as a man in his 60s.
The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Efforts were made to stabilize the condition of the critically injured victim.
The rapid response by law enforcement highlighted their commitment to community safety during dangerous situations.
