Shooting Incident in Mundelein Results in One Death and One Injury

A man was killed, and a woman was severely injured during a shooting on Tuesday in Mundelein, according to Lake County officials. Two individuals are currently in custody, though authorities have not disclosed their identities. Investigators suspect the shootings were a targeted domestic issue.

The Mundelein police responded to an apartment located in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive around 11:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers discovered a deceased man and a woman with a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.

Police managed to acquire a description of a vehicle believed to be connected to the shootings. An Illinois State Police officer stopped the vehicle near the Indiana state line and apprehended a man and a woman. The investigation is ongoing.
