Socialist Twitch host Hasan Piker expressed his disapproval during a livestream, arguing that the celebrity wedding was a misuse of public resources, emphasizing the contradiction of wealthy public figures regardless of their popularity.
“This is a glaringly obvious example,” Piker commented. “It is straightforwardly a flex to be like, ‘Yeah, I can do this, f it.’ And I kind of think it is a little tacky, at best.”

Former NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ spokesperson, Fabien Levy, also critiqued the event on X, stating it elevated “Groomzilla and Bridezilla energy,” and inconvenienced local residents by impacting the nation’s largest transit hub during heightened security concerns.
Even the White House joined in the commentary, sharing a meme mocking the fanfare around the wedding, altering Madison Square Garden’s sign to read, “Trump is your president.”
