Elizabeth Weiss is an anthropologist whose husband, Nick Pope, was a notable U.F.O. researcher. He passed away in April. She recalls a wise saying of his, ‘If you start looking for patterns, you will find them.’ This statement highlights the challenge of making connections in a world fascinated by the unexplained.
The grief from losing loved ones, whether their deaths are linked or not, is painfully real. Alexander Nazaryan explores this sentiment, focusing on the life of David Wilcock.
David Wilcock’s fascination with the supernatural began in his childhood. He stumbled upon an old book on U.F.O.s in his basement. Despite being written for an adult audience, young David eagerly absorbed the content. His father, Donald, noted this early curiosity.
As Wilcock matured, his interest in the paranormal grew. In 2004, he co-authored a book suggesting he was Edgar Cayce’s reincarnation, a psychic from the 20th century. Wilcock gained fame appearing on ‘Ancient Aliens’ and launched the Divine Cosmos YouTube channel. The channel attracted 550,000 subscribers, shedding light on his popularity.
Despite his public success, Wilcock encountered personal challenges. Financial difficulties arose, coupled with bouts of depression. His marriage, which lasted four years, ended in 2021. His father acknowledged his son’s struggles, but never foresaw the tragic event that unfolded in April.
On April 20, before 11 a.m., deputies in Boulder County, Colorado, responded to a call at Wilcock’s home in Nederland. Living near the Rocky Mountain foothills, Wilcock emerged with a firearm. Minutes after the deputies arrived, he took his own life, as reported by the sheriff’s office.
The emotional devastation for Donald Wilcock was immense, describing it like an avalanche. He painfully stated, ‘No father should ever have to go through what I’m going through.’
