TikTok Influencer and Husband Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Oklahoma

TikTok influencer Sara Gilson, known online as Sara Duffey, recently made headlines after posting a video that accused her husband of being a pedophile. Tragically, both she and her husband were later found dead in what authorities suspect was a murder-suicide at her Oklahoma residence.

Gilson accused 48-year-old Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey, her estranged husband, of severe misconduct through a TikTok video uploaded on July 11. The post insinuated a future documentary exposé and alleged that Duffey was involved in crimes with minors. Despite its content, the video remained publicly accessible as of a recent Saturday.

Thirteen days following her accusatory video, police responded to a domestic incident at Gilson’s home. Officers discovered both individuals deceased from gunshot wounds, according to local news station KTUL. It was reported by an extended family member that Duffey allegedly broke into the house, killed Gilson, and subsequently took his own life. Local outlet KRMG confirmed their identities but didn’t conclusively label it as a murder-suicide.

“There is no threat to the public,” police conveyed to KRMG, attempting to reassure the community.

In a heart-wrenching detail, the 911 alert reportedly came from a juvenile present at the scene.

Gilson had obtained a protective order against Duffey on June 10, mandating a minimum distance of 100 yards from herself. On the identical day, a separate protective order was issued by another woman claiming illicit behavior by Duffey involving her 15-year-old daughter, a player on Duffey’s basketball team, as referenced by The Oklahoman. Allegations included Duffey’s inappropriate conduct, such as sending messages and offering hush money.

A complaint was subsequently filed with the Owasso Police Department regarding his conduct.
