Tractor-Trailer Accident in Connecticut Spills Thousands of Beer Cans
An accident involving a tractor-trailer caused a significant disruption on a Connecticut highway early Tuesday. The incident occurred around 5:39 a.m. on Route 44 near Twin Lakes Road in Salisbury.
According to Connecticut State Police, the tractor-trailer veered off the road and overturned, resulting in substantial damage. This led to thousands of beer cans being scattered across the roadway.
Photos provided by the state police revealed the overturned truck with cans of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light littering the road. The highway remained closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the debris and remove the vehicle.
State police expressed gratitude to motorists for their patience and for using alternate routes during the closure. Cleanup efforts involved local firefighters, EMS teams, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Department of Consumer Protection, and towing services.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, state police reported. Notably, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was not informed of the crash, according to local reports.
