U.S. Airman Faces Charges for Actions Against President Trump
Major Jason Watson, a U.S. airman, faces criminal charges following two arrests related to his calls for the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Recently, Watson was detained on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in July and put into pretrial confinement on August 18. On Monday, authorities filed charges against him.
CNN reported, based on a charging document from his attorney, that Watson is charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for various offenses:
- Three violations of Article 88 for alleged ‘contemptuous’ remarks about the president
- Five violations of Article 92 for allegedly disobeying orders
- Two violations of Article 133 for alleged conduct unbecoming an officer
