U.S. Military Conducts Another Strike on Alleged Drug-Smuggling Boat

The United States military executed an additional strike on Saturday, targeting a boat in the eastern Pacific Ocean. The vessel was accused of drug smuggling, resulting in the death of three individuals. This marks the fourth attack this week and increases the overall fatalities to 205.

According to the U.S. Southern Command, the boat was involved in narco-trafficking operations and was operated by a designated terrorist group. No evidence was provided to support these claims. This operation is part of an ongoing campaign against suspected drug vessels, traversing the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific.

Footage released on social media by the military showcases a small boat in the ocean, that was subsequently hit and consumed by flames. This attack forms a series beginning in early September, with additional strikes reported on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The Trump administration has announced that the U.S. considers itself in armed conflict with Latin American drug cartels, citing their role in the distribution of drugs within American communities. The U.S. Southern Command stated on social media platform X that General Francis L. Donovan, the senior U.S. commander in Latin America, directed the strike.
