Vice President JD Vance Offers Quick Opinions on Political Figures During TikTok Video
Vice President JD Vance shared candid opinions of well-known political figures in a TikTok video released Thursday. During the clip, he labeled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., as a “communist,” Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., as “lame,” and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as “crazy.”
The video featured Vance responding to the names of various Democrats, Trump administration officials, and other political figures that appeared on screen. His assessments varied from praise to criticism within a brisk 30-second sequence.
Vance seemed particularly critical of far-left Democrats. He described Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer as “cranky” and Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed as “odd.” His harshest comment was directed at Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., with Vance stating “irrelevant” upon seeing Schiff’s name.
The TikTok video quickly garnered attention, racking up over 70,000 views. Vance’s opinions on members of the Trump administration were notably more favorable. He referred to outgoing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt as “awesome,” deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller as “hardcore,” and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles as “tough.” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received the description “interesting,” while Secretary of State Marco Rubio was called “funny” and House Speaker Mike Johnson “kind.”
Vance, known for his criticism of certain far-left policies, had no comment when the name of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) leader Megan Romer appeared on screen. After a brief pause, the video resumed to Vance’s opinion on Schiff.
President Donald Trump was described positively, with Vance calling him “generous.” The video provided a glimpse into Vance’s rapport with administration figures and allowed him to express critical views toward notable far-left Democrats and democratic socialists.
