Vice President JD Vance’s mother, Beverly Vance Aikins, recently expressed strong feelings towards Michigan Democratic Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed following his repeated criticisms of the second family. Speaking to Tomi Lahren from Outkick and Fox News, Aikins humorously noted that she would like to ‘punch the guy’ but acknowledged this would land her in trouble, opting instead to ‘go with the flow.’
The interview was part of a broader conversation about Aikins’ journey overcoming opioid addiction, her views on Netflix’s ‘Hillbilly Elegy,’ and JD Vance’s ascent to the vice presidency. El-Sayed has repeatedly targeted Vance and his family, most recently during an appearance on ‘The Allen Analysis Show.’
During the interview with Lahren, Aikins expressed her frustration over El-Sayed’s comments, emphasizing the lack of personal knowledge El-Sayed has about her son. Despite the anger, Aikins chose not to act on these feelings, joking again about punching El-Sayed, but deciding to ‘go with the flow.’
El-Sayed’s comments about Second Lady Usha Vance and the Vance children have recently resurfaced, causing public outrage. He discussed the supposed disconnect between Vice President Vance’s political stances and his children’s biracial background. El-Sayed asserted that Vance’s views imply his children are ‘less American’ and suggested they would grow to ‘undo’ Vance’s political beliefs.
He further criticized Vance’s adherence to Sharia law during a rally in Ohio, proposing the practice seems alien to Vance’s family, specifically his grandfather. In both remarks, El-Sayed targeted the second lady, urging her to leave her husband.
Vice President JD Vance rebuffed El-Sayed’s comments while supporting GOP Senate nominee Mike Rogers in Michigan. Vance highlighted the odd nature of El-Sayed discussing his wife, advising him to keep her name ‘out of your mouth.’
Fox News Digital sought comments from the Vice President’s office and El-Sayed’s campaign on the issue. Ashley J. DiMella reports on politics for Fox News Digital.
