49ers Owner Jed York Arrested in Ohio
John “Jed” York, the owner and CEO of the San Francisco 49ers, was detained in East Palestine, Ohio. He faced accusations of “engaging in prostitution” and “possessing criminal tools.” These charges were later modified to misdemeanors for disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools as per court records.
York was arrested on a Sunday morning and released on a $5,000 bond by the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. He appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court the following Monday. York pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charges through a plea agreement. Consequently, he must serve two days in jail, with credit for one day already served, and pay $1,150 in fines.
The arrest took place at Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community, a trailer park, and East Palestine police have referred further inquiries to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which has not provided comments.
York, who is 46 years old, will be subjected to disciplinary actions by the NFL under its Personal Conduct Policy. An NFL representative stated, “We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy.”
The 49ers organization has chosen not to elaborate, stating, “As this is a legal matter which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time.”
Jed York has been the majority owner since 2024. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, he had previously served as the team’s CEO.
