Fitness Routine
Seymour follows a diverse routine incorporating light weights, walking, Pilates, and Gyrotonics. She avoids yoga, humorously noting her competitive nature might lead her to push herself too hard. Instead, she focuses on exercises she knows are safe and beneficial for her body.
“I try to do a combination of light weights, walking, fast walking if possible, or going up and down hills. I do Pilates and Gyrotonics, or if those aren’t feasible, I fall back on sit-ups and some ballet exercises,” Seymour shared in an interview.
Ballet Roots and Diet
Returning to her ballet roots, Seymour includes a full barre workout in her routine. She follows a Mediterranean diet, primarily avoiding starch but without strict dieting. She drinks alcohol only in moderation and refrains entirely while filming.
Seymour believes the secret to staying active lies in understanding personal limits and avoiding trendy workouts that don’t suit her.
On Yoga and Personal Limits
Seymour’s aversion to yoga stems from her awareness of her competitive demeanor. “I’ve actually had to remind myself in group classes like yoga that I’m not there to win,” she explained. “Trying to emulate others might land me in trouble or even the hospital, so I focus on how I can safely perform exercises in a way that suits me.”
This approach has fueled Seymour’s enduring energy, recognized by her friend and co-star Joe Lando, who knows the actress well from their work on “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.”
Friendship and Professional Reunion
Jane Seymour and Joe Lando, known for their chemistry in “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” reunite for “Harry Wild” Season 5. Despite their romantic tension in the past, they decided to remain friends. This friendship is still strong, contributing to their successful on-screen partnership.
“We were drawn to each other during the pilot, but ultimately, we realized our friendship was more valuable,” Seymour reflected. Lando echoes this sentiment, acknowledging Seymour’s consistent energy over the years.
Energy and Passion
Lando likens Seymour to the Energizer Bunny, recounting how her energy scarcely waned, even during long filming days when she was pregnant with twins. “She just keeps going, and that hasn’t changed,” Lando noted.
Seymour attributes her stamina to doing what she loves. When asked about the source of her energy, she responded, “Because I love what I do.”
