Man Found Dead in Back of the Yards After Apparent Dog Attack

A 56-year-old man was found dead on Thursday night, apparently attacked by a dog, in a yard located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. According to Chicago police and information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the man was discovered around 8:50 p.m. outside a home in the 2000 block of West 47th Street.

The autopsy, conducted on Friday, determined that the man died from multiple injuries related to a ‘dog mauling.’ Officials have ruled his death as an accident. At the time of the report, authorities had not identified the man’s home address, and attempts to reach his family for comment were unsuccessful.
