NFL stars and other sports icons gathered for the wedding of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden on Friday.

NFL Stars Join the Celebration

JuJu Smith-Schuster and Cooper Kupp, fresh from a Super Bowl victory, were spotted among the attendees. Kareem Hunt, one of Kelce’s current or former teammates from the Kansas City Chiefs, was seen in New York before the event. Jason Kelce, Kelce’s brother and a retired Philadelphia Eagles player, was also anticipated to attend. San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle and other notable sports figures were part of the guest list.

Among those from outside the NFL, actor Jason Sudeikis, known for his role in “Ted Lasso” and a big Chiefs fan, represented the soccer community.

Madison Square Garden: A Historic Venue

Madison Square Garden, the arena for the NBA’s New York Knicks and NHL’s Rangers, has hosted numerous historic athletic feats. Recently, Swift attended an NBA Finals game there, witnessing the Knicks’ remarkable comeback victory. The venue has seen legendary events since its current form opened in 1968 atop Penn Station.

Historic events include the Knicks claiming their first NBA title in 1970 with a famous game by Willis Reed. Also notable was the first boxing match between Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali in 1971, dubbed the “Fight of the Century.” Ali won their rematch in 1974, and the Rangers ended their long championship wait in 1994 by winning the Stanley Cup against the Vancouver Canucks.

Achievements of the Kelce Brothers

Travis Kelce is a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs and has been selected four times as an AP All-Pro. His brother Jason, a seven-time All-Pro center, played a key role in Philadelphia’s Super Bowl victory in 2017.
