Prince Harry Discusses Life After Royal Duties on Podcast

Prince Harry recently featured on the podcast “Joe Marler Will See You Now” to share insights about his life after transitioning from royal duties. The episode, hosted by former England rugby player Joe Marler, was released on July 13 and recorded during Harry’s visit to the U.K.

When asked by Marler to introduce himself, Harry humorously listed several titles: “Henry Albert Charles David, Duke of Sussex. Full-time dad. British Army veteran. Prince of England. Duke.” He humorously asked, “What do you want?” before settling on being called “Duke.” This choice emphasized his enduring connection to his royal identity.

“Instead of giving his full name, he gave his title,” noted Kinsey Schofield, host of YouTube’s “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered.”

Helena Chard, a British broadcaster, recalled an anecdote by Hugo Vickers where the late Queen Elizabeth said Harry moved to California to be a “childminder.” Chard speculated this might influence his sense of purpose, even though being a “full-time dad” is respectable.

During the interview, Harry was amused at being called the “inventor” of the Invictus Games, correcting Marler by saying he is the “founder.” The episode helped promote the Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham in 2027.

Harry shared some personal preferences and habits during the podcast. He revealed a fondness for watching “Love Island” and had humorously acknowledged a past TV show that featured his lookalike. Regarding grooming, he stated his routine is “s–t, shower, shave,” and he trims his beard every few days. Joking about his hair, he likened his hair color to “sunset… auburn,” refuting the common belief that he is ginger.

On a more serious note, Harry shared that exercise, particularly going to the gym, helps him manage stress and trauma, emphasizing the need to “move that s–t around the body.” His remarks highlight the importance of physical activity for mental well-being.

Harry’s involvement in charity events has continued since his visit to the U.K., including attending Scotty’s Summer Festival and a session of pickleball at the Invictus “1 Year To Go” event. Although global media speculated on his relationship with his father, Harry participated in several charitable activities during his stay.

Since relocating to California in 2020, Harry and Meghan Markle have aimed to establish independent roles outside the monarchy, focusing on family and charitable engagements.
