An expected 200,000 attendees over four days highlight the festival’s growth since 2022.
The event took a viral turn during its opening at the Javits Center. A unique moment combined Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and an unusual dunk tank filled with 500 gallons of Raising Cane’s sauce. Brady’s impeccable accuracy did not fail, sending Gronkowski splashing into the tank to the cheers of the crowd. Raising Cane’s owner Todd Graves celebrated this entertaining kickoff.
“I never thought of a Cane’s Sauce dunk tank, but partnering with Fanatics Fest was a fantastic idea,” said Graves.
He explained the partnership with Fanatics as a collaboration of mutual support. The dunk tank idea came from Michael Ratner, CEO of OBB Media, proposing the legendary duo of Brady and Gronkowski for the event.
Graves expressed that the moment would become legendary in Cane’s history. The brand started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on August 28, 1996. Its growth was likely never envisioned to intersect with such sports icons.
Fans witnessed Brady and Gronkowski perform a chicken toss with Cane’s chicken fingers, introducing a humorous element. Brady playfully missed a couple of throws, hitting the Cane’s logo before finally sending Gronkowski into the sauce on his third attempt. The crowd was thrilled, resulting in a memorable splash zone for those nearby.
Graves appreciated the moment, thanking Brady and Gronkowski for their part in this unforgettable event. He reflected on Cane’s growth, now with 100,000 crew members and 1,000 locations as the brand nears its 30th anniversary. Seeing fan engagement with the brand at Fanatics Fest was a dream for Graves.
