Tragic Incident at Berlin Pride Event

Emergency personnel responded urgently to a tragic situation at Christopher Street Day in Berlin on Saturday, July 25, 2026. At least one individual lost their life, and several others sustained injuries when a vehicle plowed into the crowd at a Pride event in Berlin, Germany.

Berlin police have identified a suspect. This individual is known to law enforcement and has connections to Islamist circles. Authorities are actively searching for the suspect.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. local time when a white vehicle struck several people. At least 17 individuals were injured, with some suffering life-threatening injuries, according to Berlin police. The event unfolded in Tiergarten Park, one of Berlin’s largest parks, during an LGBTQ+ celebration.

Kai Wegner, the governing mayor of Berlin, addressed the situation, describing it as an attack on the city’s free and diverse society. “Berlin is the city of freedom, and our freedom has been horribly attacked today,” Wegner stated on social media. He expressed support for the victims, their families, and friends while trusting that police and security authorities would conduct a thorough investigation.

Earlier in the day, thousands had marched through Berlin to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights during the annual Christopher Street Day Parade, one of Europe’s largest pride events. Unfortunately, the celebration was halted following the attack.
