A new video has surfaced, possibly showing the last moments of a missing North Carolina mother near the resort where she was staying in Grenada. Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, age 43, disappeared on July 22 while on vacation at Grand Anse Beach. The physical therapist from Cary, N.C., was vacationing with a friend when she went missing after a swim.
Surveillance footage shared by her family on YouTube depicts a person, likely Waddell, walking near a pool with a towel. Moments later, she appears to approach the water for a swim. This footage may represent the last known sighting of her before her disappearance.
The video reportedly originates from surveillance cameras at an Airbnb property. It might be the final recording of her seen alive.
In a statement, her husband, Cailen Waddell, confirmed continuous search efforts in collaboration with family, local authorities, and the U.S. Embassy. He believes, along with the authorities, that there was no foul play involved.
Randy Connaught, commissioner of the Royal Grenada Police Force, mentioned in a recent press conference that they have not determined any conclusions regarding Waddell’s disappearance. Currently, police are employing dive teams, drones, and dogs to track any signs of Waddell.
The investigation remains active, with detectives following several lines of inquiry. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to step forward.
