Charley Hull’s Lighthearted Prank on Her Caddie Causes Stir

Golf star Charley Hull recently pulled a prank on her caddie, Adam Woodward, that sparked mixed reactions from the public. Hull, 30, handed Woodward a fake scratch-off lottery ticket, leading him to believe he had won $100,000. This unfolded ahead of the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in England.

As Hull shared the story with the media, social media users voiced criticism. Yet Hull remained unfazed. She expressed that those who complained should lighten up. “If people don’t like it they can lump it,” Hull remarked to reporters, stating she did not regret the prank.

Hull revealed that Woodward took the joke in stride and found it amusing. “He thought it was funny after,” Hull noted. “I felt bad for Woodward, but at the end of the day, I’ll buy him 100 scratch cards.” She added, “Hopefully he can earn more money this week if we play well.”

The incident occurred when Hull purchased the fake ticket in town on Monday, giving it to Woodward on Tuesday. During his initial excitement, Woodward believed he had hit the jackpot. “He’s scratching, and he’s like ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve won,'” Hull recounted. “He nearly quit the job,” she added with a laugh.

Hull showcased a video of Woodward’s reaction while speaking to the media and explained how the prank unfolded. Despite the prank, both Hull and Woodward focused on performing well at the Women’s Open, where Hull stood tied for seventh at 2-under par after the initial rounds, four strokes behind the leader.
