Senator Mitch McConnell, representing Kentucky, has been discharged from a rehabilitation facility following a fall at his home in Kentucky in mid-June. The incident required hospitalization.
McConnell expressed gratitude, stating, “Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine and I are grateful for the many well-wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I’ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff.” His wife, Elaine Chao, has been by his side through the process.
He will remain at home to recover during the Senate’s upcoming state work period. McConnell plans to continue engaging with Senate business and his staff from home. He said, “On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period.”
