Jett underwent orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae, according to a post that appeared on her Instagram Story and was reported by Rolling Stone. This surgery prevents her from performing at scheduled shows in Costa Mesa, California, and Louisville, Kentucky.

“While Joan hates to disappoint fans, she will be taking this time to focus on physical therapy and healing. She’s looking forward to delivering tremendous concerts for many years to come,” the statement read.

Instead of Jett, the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa announced that Cheap Trick will perform on the original September 5 date, with X as the opening act.
