Flanagan received endorsements from Sen. Tina Smith, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, along with other progressive figures. If elected in November, she would be the first Native American woman to serve in the U.S. Senate.
