Minnesota Democratic Senate Primary
Progressive Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan has secured a victory in the Democratic primary for the Senate in Minnesota. NBC News confirms her win over moderate Rep. Angie Craig. This race was to fill the seat of retiring Sen. Tina Smith.
Flanagan received endorsements from Sen. Tina Smith, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, along with other progressive figures. If elected in November, she would be the first Native American woman to serve in the U.S. Senate.
Trump’s Secret Plane Swap in Turkey
Donald Trump revealed he changed planes secretly during a trip from Turkey in July due to a security threat. The decision was made by the Secret Service and military, according to Trump.
The swap involved him traveling on a different flight to ensure safety as advised by his security team. He didn’t elaborate on the nature of the threat.
South Carolina GOP Senate Primary
Sen. Darline Graham and Rep. Ralph Norman are moving to a Republican primary runoff in South Carolina. Graham, appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to replace her late brother Lindsey Graham, was endorsed by Trump. Despite his support, she faces stiff competition in the runoff.

Despite leading in polls, Lindell, known for election conspiracy theories, struggled due to intra-party challenges and questions about his residency. Demuth is now set to challenge Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar in the general election.
Wisconsin Democratic Gubernatorial Primary
David Crowley, Milwaukee County Executive, won Wisconsin’s Democratic primary for governor. NBC News labels this an upset against democratic socialist Francesca Hong.
Crowley had temporarily exited the race but re-entered with support from outgoing Gov. Tony Evers. His success marks a significant turnaround following earlier struggles.
