South Carolina to Lead 2028 Democratic Primary

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has decided that South Carolina will be the first to hold its Democratic primary for the 2028 presidential election. This event will occur on January 22, 2028. The state of Nevada is scheduled to follow with its primary on February 1.

This strategic scheduling by the DNC focuses on enhancing the influence of Black and Latino voters within the nomination process. These demographics have historically played a significant role in the party’s elections.
