Joint Practice Between Saints and Cowboys Marred by Conflicts
During Tuesday’s joint practice, tensions flared between the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys. The session was halted multiple times due to altercations between players.
Saints head coach Kellen Moore seemed unfazed by the disruptions. “All the chippiness of it, not the ideal flow of a joint practice, but we got the work we need,” Moore remarked, according to ProFootballTalk.
In contrast, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed frustration over the incidents. He noted his disappointment with the lack of productive work achieved during the practice.
The two coaches have a history together, having worked as assistants for the Cowboys in 2022. Moore stated, “Schotty and I communicated, we know each other from working in the past, so we communicated.”
Moore further elaborated on the nature of football. “There’s a lot of rah-rah and emotion to football, and that’s part of it. At the end of the day it’s about executing and running football plays,” he said. “Take all the emotion out of it, watch it without all the rah-rah to it and we’ll get some good lessons.”
The two teams are set to meet again in a preseason game on August 28.
