Trey McBride of the Arizona Cardinals has made a noteworthy leap in the NFL Top 100 list for the upcoming season. He now ranks as the 13th best player, an improvement voted on by fellow active NFL players.

During a media session at the Cardinals training camp, the Pro Bowl tight end expressed his excitement about the news. McBride revealed that he had known about his ranking for some time, describing the placement as “very cool.” Last year, McBride ranked 65th, marking a significant rise in the ranks this season.

I’ve known for probably three months or so that I was that, so, it’s been cool, just the anticipation of everyone not knowing,” he told reporters.
To be the 13th wow, some of those names in front of me, some of those names behind me, there’s some really good players.

McBride expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition, saying, “I’m very honored to get the respect from my teammates, my competitors, everybody in this league. It’s very special.” He referred to his position on the list as a “dream come true.”

McBride’s ascent reflects his efforts and achievements with the Cardinals last season. The 2022 second-round draft pick reached career highs, recording 126 receptions, 1,239 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns. These accomplishments led to his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance. At 26, McBride has established himself as one of the premier tight ends in the NFL.

The departure of veteran players like Rob Gronkowski and the twilight of Travis Kelce’s career with the Kansas City Chiefs allow McBride to emerge as a leading figure in the league. This season, McBride will play without Kyler Murray as quarterback, who now joins the Minnesota Vikings. Veteran Jacoby Brissett is set to take over the quarterback position for Arizona. Additionally, the team added Jeremiyah Love, a first-round draft pick running back, to enhance their offensive lineup. Observers are keen to see whether McBride will continue to deliver impressive statistics or face challenges in the new setup.
