Second Death Confirmed at Grand Canyon Amid Flash Floods

A second individual has died at Grand Canyon National Park following severe flash floods over the weekend, officials reported on Monday.

Heavy rains swept through a remote area favored by hikers and campers, causing significant flooding.

Over a dozen people remain missing as search and recovery efforts continue along Bright Angel Creek, extending from the north rim of the canyon to the Colorado River, according to the National Park Service.

The agency cautioned that the search may be hindered by additional rain and thunderstorms anticipated on Monday.

Late Sunday, officials disclosed that rescuers had found the body of a 46-year-old man near Crystal Rapids along the Colorado River. No further information was provided about the second victim.
