Miami Steakhouse Manager Faces Murder Charge
A Miami steakhouse manager is accused of killing his mother, according to police reports. Stefano Eduardo Cremasco-Cicero, 36, was found covered in blood at his Miami apartment and claimed self-defense. He is charged with second-degree murder using a weapon, as shown in Miami-Dade County jail records.
Incident Details
Police responded to an early morning call at about 4:47 a.m. near Brickell. At the scene, they found Cremasco-Cicero in the lobby, his hands, clothing, and shoes covered in blood. He allegedly directed police to his apartment, where his mother was found stabbed to death. She was pronounced dead shortly after 5 a.m. Officers have not disclosed her identity or age, but she was visiting from Mexico.
A food delivery driver encountered Cremasco-Cicero in the lobby. He requested she call 911, ultimately making the call himself but handing her the phone to provide the dispatcher with the address. The driver noticed blood on him. When police arrived, she gave them back his phone after he refused it.
Investigation Findings
Authorities used surveillance footage to investigate the incident further. Video footage showed Cremasco-Cicero and his mother returning to the building together around 10:32 p.m. the previous night. Cremasco-Cicero later appeared on camera, reportedly wearing a white shirt and khaki pants stained with blood, holding a knife.
He changed clothes to a blue shirt and left the building briefly before attempting to engage the delivery driver. The investigation also revealed small cuts on Cremasco-Cicero’s hands and blood on his body and clothing. Authorities collected evidence such as knives, bloodied shirts, and broken items from the apartment.
Cremasco-Cicero’s wife, who was in France during the incident, informed detectives of her husband’s recent stress due to opening a restaurant. She stated he and his mother had been distant since his parents’ divorce.
Additional Background
Stefano Cremasco-Cicero is identified as the U.S. operating manager of 1986 Steakhouse. He resides in the U.S. with an investor visa. Jail records show he is detained without bond and faces a hold for immigration assessment. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson clarified Cremasco-Cicero is an illegal immigrant and prosecution would proceed under U.S. law.
The motive for the alleged murder is unclear. The Miami Police Department and other authorities have not provided further comments.
