Aaron Rodgers Discusses Relationship with Shailene Woodley
Aaron Rodgers recently shared candid details about his engagement with Shailene Woodley during a conversation with his Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Cam Heyward on the podcast “Not Just Football.”
Rodgers and Woodley met during the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly moved in together. Rodgers announced their engagement in 2021. However, a year later, news broke of their split.
Rodgers reflected on the relationship, saying, “I date Shailene, I propose and she says yes. She maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision.” He added that shortly after the proposal, Woodley expressed desire to leave the relationship, suggesting she felt pressured.
Rodgers’ Perspective on the Relationship
Rodgers claimed Woodley accused him of ruining her life and causing depression by ending their relationship. He remarked, “She told me that and took off the ring by March.”
Despite attempting reconciliation multiple times, Rodgers stated, “There wasn’t even a relationship in ’22 to break off. She literally told me I don’t want to be with you.”
Rodgers also commented on the fame of his past relationships, saying, “The height of their fame was when they were with me.”
Woodley’s Perspective
Shailene Woodley’s representatives did not immediately respond for comment. However, Woodley previously discussed the breakup in a 2022 interview with Outside magazine. She stated, “I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry.”
Woodley described the relationship as not right, but beautiful. During the interview, she also referenced a traumatic event in early 2022 that led to six months of depression.
