The wrestling community was united in mourning during All Elite Wrestling’s ‘Dynamite’ episode on Wednesday. The company and its wrestlers paid their respects to Pac, real name Benjamin Satterley, who passed away at 40 on Sunday after the AEW All Out pay-per-view event.
As the show began, the AEW roster gathered on stage. Broadcaster Tony Schiavone spoke movingly about Pac. He reminded fans and viewers of a memorable promo delivered by Jon Moxley after losing the World Championship match to Will Ospreay, marking Pac’s final appearance on AEW cameras.
‘I gave everything I had. I have no regrets. You’re going to lose in wrestling, in life, in opportunities. But you have to get up and do it again every day because every day is a gift. Being in the ring, surrounded by friends and fans, is the best job in the world,’ Moxley expressed during his emotional speech.
Moxley emphasized that while Will Ospreay won the match, the prize was simply more hard work. He reflected on the eulogies people receive at funerals, expressing a desire to be remembered for who he was rather than just his accomplishments.
‘We have the future of professional wrestling in our hands,’ Moxley noted, highlighting the opportunity to shape and influence the wrestling industry for generations to come. ‘Do something with this gift,’ he urged his peers.
After delivering this powerful message, Moxley left the stage, trailed by his Death Riders stablemates Marina Shafir, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta. Pac followed, a somber figure with long hair draped over his face.
The evening continued with Moxley defending his AEW Continental Championship against Orange Cassidy. A chair was symbolically left on the side of the arena to honor Pac. Moxley successfully retained his title, and afterward, Bryan Danielson entered the ring. Despite past rivalries, he embraced Moxley, emotionally affected by the night’s events.
Through these gestures, AEW demonstrated the tight-knit nature of the wrestling community, celebrating Pac’s contributions and impact within it.
