Actor Robert De Niro entertained audiences on Jimmy Kimmel Live! by pretending to be FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. He surprised Jimmy Kimmel with a baseball bat, playfully slapping him during their humorous exchange on stage.
Kimmel started the show by recalling their previous Brooklyn visit, noting they came back from an unexpected FCC hiatus. He expressed frustration, saying, “We are still being threatened by the FCC.”
De Niro played along, asking, “You’re being threatened by the FCC? Who is threatening you?” He humorously posed with questions and commands during the segment.
De Niro quipped, “Did I tell you it was your turn to talk, numbnuts?…”
The conversation took a turn with De Niro’s comments about President Donald Trump, sparking laughter and more banter with insults exchanged.
The FCC was asked for a comment but did not respond to Fox News Digital. The playful nature continued with Kimmel’s acknowledgment of the comedy in a joke involving Adele’s music.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle criticized De Niro and Kimmel, calling De Niro “a washed-up has-been” and referring to Kimmel as “a no-talent loser.” These comments referenced what they saw as inflammatory speech and poor ratings.
Kimmel celebrated a milestone, his show’s 4,000th episode, where he humorously referenced FCC’s past attempts to limit the show’s airtime by saying, “There are those who used the regulatory might of the FCC to unconstitutionally try to make sure we didn’t last this long… and we are still here.”
Radio host Howard Stern joining Kimmel on the show expressed strong opinions, advising ABC to consider Kimmel’s contributions to the network.
Overall, the night was filled with satire and lively exchanges between De Niro, Kimmel, and their political jabs.
