President Donald Trump has launched an AI-driven platform, America.gov, during a meeting with top technology CEOs at the White House. This initiative seeks to maintain the United States’ competitive edge over China in the global AI industry.
Users exploring the new America.gov discovered various hidden features throughout the federal platform. One such feature includes a “Minecraft”-inspired response and a search bar that whimsically transforms into a hot dog.
The website, unveiled by the Trump administration, combines information from over 29,000 government sites into a single AI-powered search tool. Reports of the site’s unique and interactive features began circulating on social media. Users noted playful interactions, such as typing “Play Minecraft”, which generated a response crafted in the style of the video game’s “End Poem.” This response replaced original game references with mentions of government bureaucracy, privacy, and federal programs.
Example response when users entered “Play Minecraft”: “This constituent dreamed of sunlight and trees. Of fire and water. It dreamed it created a small business. And it dreamed it destroyed a password. It dreamed it hunted a job, and was hunted by a recertification. It dreamed of shelter that would take a voucher.”
By Thursday, Fox News Digital could not replicate the same response using this prompt. A White House official stated that America.gov will continue to update for accurate federal information and resources.
A National Design Studio (NDS) developer confirmed that Easter eggs, like the hot dog transformation, are intentionally embedded in America.gov.
Typing “hotdog” changes the chatbot’s bar into a frankfurter. Users shared their experiences on social media, expressing amusement at the interactive elements.
Beyond playful features, the platform provides practical functionalities. When users enter queries like Lincoln Memorial or Statue of Liberty, the logo shifts from an American flag to the prompted monument icon, accompanied by visitation instructions.
The platform aims to allow users to complete government forms and track their progress. U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia highlighted plans to add more federal services. By 2027, citizens should be able to use America.gov for obtaining Social Security cards, passports, and more. Trump emphasized the platform’s utility for various needs, from reserving campsites to choosing Medicare plans.
Fox News Digital contacted NDS and the White House for further comments.
