Saquon Barkley, known for his charisma both on and off the field, including as a former golf partner of President Donald Trump, has sustained an injury. During the Philadelphia Eagles game against the Los Angeles Rams, Barkley suffered an apparent right hamstring injury early in the first quarter.
OutKick medical expert Dr. David Chao attributes this injury to the wet field conditions. Dr. Chao, who previously served as the head physician for the San Diego Chargers, explained that wet fields can help avoid knee injuries by preventing cleats from sticking to the turf. However, these conditions can increase the risk of soft tissue injuries, such as hamstring strains.
During the game, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts handed off to Barkley during the second half. After experiencing distress, Barkley moved cautiously to the Eagles’ sideline. He entered the medical tent for an initial examination and subsequently made his way to the locker room for further evaluation. Observers noted that as he exited the field, he did not appear to be limping noticeably.
The Eagles have listed Barkley as questionable for a return to the game.
