Tatjana Genrich: From Miss Germany to Professional Boxer
Tatjana Genrich, formerly crowned Miss Germany, is now embracing a new endeavor as she steps into the boxing ring. On Tuesday, the model announced her debut fight as a professional boxer, scheduled for next month.
At 33, Genrich is not a novice when it comes to boxing. Before her pageant successes, she was an amateur boxer. She gained attention well before winning Miss Germany 2022, securing titles such as the “Best in Swimsuit” and Miss Intercontinental Europe at the Miss Intercontinental 2022 pageant.
“I became enthusiastic about the sport very early on. I was often bullied at school, and I wanted to fight back somehow,” Genrich revealed about her early interest in boxing.
Between 2007 and 2009, Genrich held the title of amateur state champion in the flyweight division for three years, as reported by the German outlet Bild.
Her transition from modeling to boxing wasn’t immediate, as she had commitments in pageants and modeling. However, Tatjana is now gearing up for her first professional fight.
Genrich’s journey back to boxing began when she sponsored ring girls for SES Boxing events. Her involvement led to discussions about stepping into the ring, as her boxing background was recognized. Her pro debut is set for the November 14 fight card.
Supported by trainer Dirk Dzemski, who previously coached former German boxer Robert Stieglitz, Tatjana aims to inspire young women. “I want to be a role model for young women and show them that you can be successful in both your career and sports,” she stated.
Training extensively, Genrich dedicates five days a week to boxing, preparing for an as-yet-unknown opponent. Her rigorous routine involves significant effort, yet she finds enjoyment in the process.
