Information has emerged about the eagerly-awaited third installment of the “Sicario” movie series. This intense film franchise, designed by Taylor Sheridan, stands out as a noteworthy production in cinema since its 2015 debut. Recently, confirmation arrived that a third film is underway, sparking debates on whether Sheridan would continue as the scriptwriter.
However, it is now confirmed that Steven Knight will pen the script, not Taylor Sheridan. Josh Brolin, the actor portraying CIA operator Matt Graver, will return for the new film. Alongside him, Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt will reprise their roles, marking Blunt’s return after her absence in the sequel. Brolin attended the Arlington Artist Award ceremony during the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival, highlighting the franchise’s strong following.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Brolin addressed the current progress of the project. He mentioned the development is in the “notes process” with ongoing efforts to refine the script. Brolin expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Del Toro and Blunt, sharing, “We adore each other, and we’ve all worked together before. Benicio and I, this will be our sixth film together. It’s fantastic to work with Emily again. I just sent her a voice memo yesterday and I adore her. I think the work right now has reached a level that’s untouchable,” Brolin told ScreenRant.
As of now, there is no official release date for the third “Sicario” film. Speculation about the film’s plot remains open for fans to explore.
