Katie Zacharia, pictured on December 14, 2025, in Franklin, Tennessee, officially begins her tenure as White House press secretary. Her appointment comes at a crucial moment for President Trump, as his popularity has reached record lows and Republicans are anxious to avoid substantial losses in the upcoming midterm elections.
Zacharia steps into her new role amid an ongoing legal confrontation between the administration and the press corps. Recently, the White House limited access to certain media outlets, including CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, which the president perceives as antagonistic. Consequently, the Justice Department initiated an investigation into five television networks responsible for pool video coverage of the president.
Despite these challenges, Zacharia expressed optimism in her social media posts, describing her new position as the “honor of a lifetime” and affirming her support for Trump’s policies. His confidence is a true privilege, and his leadership is a blessing to this country,
Zacharia shared recently.
Trump endorsed Zacharia, praising her loyalty and long-standing support. She has an unblemished record of support, and has been a loyal and brilliant supporter, right from the beginning,
Trump stated. He also noted her active role in the MAGA movement.
Zacharia, aged 41, graduated from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and has associations with various conservative organizations. Her involvement includes serving on the advisory board for The White Rose Resistance, an anti-abortion group named after Christian students opposing the Nazis. The organization aims to confront similar evils and apathy faced during the Nazi regime.
More recently, Zacharia worked as a communications advisor for the Trump Media & Technology Group, operators of Trump’s Truth Social platform. She regularly contributed pro-Trump commentary on conservative media outlets like Fox News and Newsmax.
In August, during an appearance on Real America’s Voice, Zacharia lent her opinion on the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, suggesting that toxic feminism
had skewed public perception of the case. Clancy faced charges for the deaths of her three children, sparking a national dialogue on postpartum depression after her trial concluded in a mistrial. This started with the advocation of abortion,
Zacharia argued, questioning the boundaries of humanity.
Social media posts from Zacharia have spread right-wing conspiracy theories, including controversial remarks about Democratic leaders’ alleged involvement in pedophile rings. In a 2022 post, she described former Democratic White House chief of staff John Podesta as Pedo Podesta.
That year, she also shared posts from far-right commentators accusing Democrats of sinister intentions.
In response to NPR’s inquiry about Zacharia’s social media activity, the White House opted to commend Zacharia rather than address her comments directly. Her appointment as press secretary garnered praise from other administration figures, with FBI director Kash Patel calling her sharp, fearless,
and dedicated to the American people.
Karoline Leavitt, who stepped down as press secretary in August, also expressed confidence in Zacharia’s abilities to excel in her new role.
On Fox News, Zacharia endorsed Trump’s contentious strategy to source Russian diesel fuel, a decision met with bipartisan critique. She applauded Trump’s attempts to secure GOP backing before the November election and suggested that congressional Republicans might be accountable for potential setbacks. President Trump has made the case and delivered historic results. I would have loved to see more from our congressional Republicans and Senate,
she remarked.
