Suspicious Bags at Disneyland Prompt Bomb Squad Investigation

On Monday night, Disneyland security contacted the Anaheim Police Department to report two suspicious bags found near the main entrance to the park. This incident led to a bomb squad response.

The alert was made at approximately 9:50 p.m. One of the bags contained marbles and noticeable wires, and the other featured duct tape and sharp instruments protruding from it. One of these bags was placed on a dolly, according to Sergeant Eric Anderson.

In response, Disneyland visitors were evacuated, and officers directed them toward an alternate exit. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was called in to examine the contents of the bags.

By shortly before midnight, the bomb squad had determined that the bags posed no threat as they contained no explosives. Anderson mentioned that the bags appeared to be deliberately positioned to cause alarm, and authorities are currently searching for the individual or individuals responsible for this act.

Sergeant Eric Anderson stated, “Police believe the bags were left intentionally to look suspicious.”

The search for those responsible is ongoing. Authorities aim to ensure the safety and security of Disneyland visitors.
