Trump Delivers Firm Message to Arizona Voters at Campaign Rally
President Donald Trump addressed Arizona voters with a direct warning, stating that Democrats would “destroy our country.” He criticized the Democrats’ behavior during the State of the Union and encouraged supporters to change the state’s political landscape by voting Republican in all races. With the election approaching in less than three weeks, Trump showed his support for Rep. Andy Biggs, the Republican gubernatorial nominee, and other GOP candidates during his campaign stop in Bullhead City. He criticized Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, urging victory in Charlie Kirk’s honor.
“On election night, Arizona is going to prove that America does not belong to those who hate it,” Trump declared. “America belongs to those who love, love, love, love — love it.” He emphasized the importance of electing Republicans in the upcoming election.
At the rally, Trump and Biggs highlighted moments from Trump’s State of the Union address. Biggs pointed to Democrats’ lack of response when Trump challenged lawmakers to prioritize Americans. “Vote Republican top to bottom,” Biggs said to the crowd. “Let’s turn Arizona red.”
Trump accused Democrats of failing to smile or applaud during the recognition of veterans honored in the February address. “Not one Democrat smiled or clapped,” he said. Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to retired Navy Capt. E. Royce Williams, who was 100 at the time. He also paid tribute to WWII veteran George “Buddy” Taggart.
The confrontation on lawmakers’ reactions surfaced when Trump asked them to affirm that the primary responsibility of the government was to protect American citizens rather than illegal immigrants. Republicans stood, whereas many Democrats stayed seated. Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania expressed that he stood to acknowledge honored guests, including veterans.
During the rally, Trump targeted Hobbs, claiming she was a “low IQ individual.” Biggs runs against Hobbs, aiming to unseat her. Trump’s remarks also covered support for Biggs’ running mate, former state Sen. Sine Kerr. Kerr seeks to become Arizona’s first lieutenant governor, having been chosen by Biggs in July.
Trump promoted Republican secretary of state candidate Alex Kolodin, referring to him as “a warrior for election integrity.” He criticized Democratic incumbent Adrian Fontes. Trump joked about Kolodin’s appearance, saying he looked “a little bit nerdy,” but appreciated his effort.
The rally saw Trump acknowledging Republican Reps. Paul Gosar, Abe Hamadeh, and Eli Crane, with Hamadeh and Crane described as “warriors.” Congressional candidate Mark Lamb received a recommendation from Trump, who urged voters to support Lamb for Arizona’s 5th Congressional District.
Trump commemorated Kirk, coinciding with what he stated to be Kirk’s 33rd birthday. “A great person, a great man, a great friend of mine,” Trump remarked, leading the crowd to chant, “Charlie! Charlie!”
Tributes were offered to Kirk’s widow, Erika, and their family. Trump then turned the tribute into a call to vote, saying, “In Charlie’s honor, we want you to go out and vote. He’d be out there fighting like nobody else. So, let’s have a big victory in honor of Charlie Kirk.”
