McRib Returns for a Limited Time
The McRib is making a temporary return to McDonald’s. However, not all locations will have the sandwich on their menu.
Starting October 27, fans in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Dallas, among other cities, can find the McRib back in select restaurants. McDonald’s has confirmed the news and suggests using their app to check availability in local areas.
Guillaume Huin, McDonald’s senior marketing director, welcomed the return of this iconic item with enthusiasm. Originally devised by chef RenĂ© Arend in 1981, the sandwich became a favorite before being limited to annual appearances after 2012. In 2020, McDonald’s started bringing it back every year for a brief period, attracting both loyal fans and curious customers.
“I love them! I’ve had 6 so far and just can’t get enough,” reported a Reddit contributor.
The McRib consists of a boneless pork patty covered in barbecue sauce. It’s garnished with onions and pickles on a toasted roll. This hearty offering has gained a cult following over the years, though opinions on the taste vary.
“It just tasted like a sausage patty with BBQ sauce and pickles,” noted one skeptical eater.
Whether loved or met with disinterest, the McRib’s limited-time availability means fans should act quickly.
