Sports Highlights and Halloween Special
‘Nightcaps’ is a go-to column for catching up on the latest sports, news, and culture stories. It runs every weekday on OutKick.com. As we slide past midweek, this weekend promises big events, including a Saturday Halloween celebration, the first since 2037.
This weekend, there’s an added hour for Halloween due to the ‘fall back’ time change. Parents may find early mornings unchanged despite the extra hour. Kids aren’t swayed by clocks.
In sports, Lane Kiffin of LSU Tigers voiced discontent about game schedules. College football fans are responding, with key matches like Alabama-LSU drawing attention.
Beyond football, Paige Spiranac teased her Halloween outfit, while MLB’s postseason felt underwhelming to some. The Milwaukee Brewers won their first World Series, yet celebrations seemed muted.
“If someone thinks the SEC wants us to win this year after what’s been going on, they must have just been on Mars the last four months.” – Lane Kiffin
Kiffin criticized the lack of primetime spotlight for the upcoming Alabama-LSU game, misunderstanding the scheduling process primarily managed by ESPN. Despite LSU Tigers having played several night games, Kiffin’s remarks were met with skepticism from fans who remember similar complaints from his Ole Miss days.
On a broader note, LSU’s night game record against Alabama in Baton Rouge raises questions about whether daytime scheduling could work in their favor.
This Thursday offers plenty of football action, with an intriguing college game between North Texas and FAU boasting an over/under of 76.5. It’s a tempting wager for eager sports bettors.
The Milwaukee Brewers completed a dominant postseason run, defeating top teams like the Dodgers and the Padres, yet their celebrations lacked the excitement expected from a first-time World Series victory.
Baseball fans experienced a less thrilling postseason, despite big teams like the Dodgers being out. Memorable moments were sparse, overshadowing Milwaukee’s impressive walk-off win over Mason Miller.
As we edge into winter and anticipate off-season bargains, the longing for vibrant sports moments grows.
Stay tuned for more updates and enjoy Halloween festivities. For now, here’s a glimpse of Paige Spiranac’s Halloween preview.
