Sol Ruca Claims Women’s Intercontinental Title at Clash in Italy

Sol Ruca achieved significant success by winning the women’s intercontinental championship during the Clash in Italy event on Sunday. She faced Becky Lynch in a rematch from their earlier encounter at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

In the previous match, Ruca won due to Lynch provoking a disqualification. Lynch pushed referee Jessica Carr, leading to an immediate call in Ruca’s favor. Yet, the result didn’t satisfy either wrestler. Ruca had yet to earn Lynch’s full respect, and Lynch wanted to overcome the rising talent.

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis organized a rematch, placing the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at stake. Ruca rose to the challenge, showcasing her determination and skill.

Lynch engaged in mind games, attempted to disrupt Ruca, and even tried to execute a Sol Snatcher move. Despite Lynch’s efforts, Ruca remained resilient.

In the final moments, Ruca executed a sudden Sol Snatcher, ending Lynch’s reign as champion. This victory marked Ruca’s first major win since joining the main roster. She previously impressed by defeating Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where John Cena included her in the card. Her transition from NXT to the WWE roster has been impactful.

Lynch’s reign concluded after 43 days. She secured the title at WrestleMania 42, becoming the first wrestler to hold the women’s intercontinental championship three times since its introduction.
