Senator Cory Booker Expresses Concerns Over Graham Platner’s Latest Scandals
Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey voiced his concerns regarding the recent controversies involving Graham Platner, the candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maine, during an appearance on ABC’s This Week. Platner has been under scrutiny following reports of him sending explicit messages to multiple women while being married.
When asked if the scandals could affect Democratic aspirations for the Senate seat in Maine, Booker responded affirmatively. The host, Jonathan Karl, inquired about the impact of these issues on Platner’s campaign. Booker stated, Yes, I have concerns. That guy has questions to answer, and that’s what campaigns are for.
Booker emphasized the importance of Democrats regaining control of the Senate in 2026. He mentioned, I know that so much is riding on Democrats taking control of the Senate. That this election, if we do not get the votes necessary to take care of the House and the Senate, we will continue to have an out-of-control president.
In response to these developments, Platner’s campaign confirmed the existence of the text exchanges to Politico, following an investigation by the Wall Street Journal which revealed that Amy Gertner, his wife, had informed a campaign aide about the texts. After the story gained traction, Gertner released a video statement defending her husband, expressing her frustration over media attention on these issues rather than on his campaign’s focus on healthcare, education, and childcare.
Additionally, Platner has previously dealt with other controversies, such as a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol and past comments on Reddit that downplayed sexual assault and included inappropriate remarks.
Fox News Digital reached out to Platner’s campaign for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
