Adam Copeland and Christian Cage Clinch AEW Tag Team Championship

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage broke a 25-year streak without tag team titles on Sunday. They won the AEW Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing in New York by forcing Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler to quit.

The match was intense, with the use of ladders, tools, and even a flaming table. The four competitors did not give up easily. Cage suffered multiple arm injuries and Wheeler nearly lost part of his nose. Barbed wire added to the brutality of the match.

At one point, Stokely Hathaway, associated with FTR, got involved. However, Beth Copeland, previously known as Beth Phoenix, surprised everyone by appearing to level the playing field. She was, unfortunately, eliminated rapidly and couldn’t contribute significantly.

In a dramatic turn, Harwood ignited a table with lighter fluid. As Wheeler prepared to drive Beth Copeland through the fiery table, Hathaway was inadvertently sent crashing through instead.

Copeland and Cage seized the opportunity to target Harwood. They confined him in several submission holds. Beth Copeland handed Adam Copeland a spiked bat to increase Harwood’s ordeal. Ultimately, Harwood declared “I quit,” securing the win for Copeland and Cage.

This victory marked a significant comeback for Copeland and Cage. Known for their legendary tag team status, they had won WWE tag team titles seven times before joining AEW without achieving further gold until now. They had last held a tag team title in April 2001 after their iconic WrestleMania X-7 triumph but lost it shortly after to Kane and The Undertaker.
