Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez easily defeated a Democratic primary opponent, Marty Dolan, in New York’s 14th Congressional District. There are ongoing speculations about her potential candidacy for higher office, including the presidency. When asked in June by Fox News Digital about a possible run for president in 2028, she neither confirmed nor denied the possibility, adding to the speculation.

Other Democrats frequently mentioned as potential 2028 presidential candidates include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. These developments unfold as Ocasio-Cortez remains a strong figure in her district.
