Allen Robinson announced his retirement from professional football on Instagram, coinciding with his 33rd birthday. Robinson hadn’t played since 2024 after a career that spanned various teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions.
Reflecting on his 11-year NFL journey, Robinson expressed gratitude for the experiences and challenges football offered him. He noted, “This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year but the beginning of a new chapter. To every love story, there comes a final chapter.” Robinson highlighted the lessons and rewards of his football career, emphasizing that they would remain with him throughout his life.
Robinson concluded his career with significant statistics: 565 catches, 7,058 yards, and 43 touchdowns. His most impressive season came in 2015 with the Jaguars, where he made 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. Robinson achieved two additional 1,000-yard seasons with the Bears, recording 98 catches for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns in 2019, and 102 catches for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns in 2020.
His career was impacted by a season-ending foot injury with the Rams in 2022, and despite a remarkable performance, Robinson’s career didn’t recover. He concludes his time in the NFL with one Pro Bowl appearance and a season leading the league in touchdown catches.
