Cincinnati Reds All-Star pitcher Andrew Abbott recently made a significant off-field announcement. He proposed to his girlfriend, Lindsay Stone, and the event was marked by a perfect backdrop of the Cincinnati skyline. Posting on social media, Abbott shared the engagement moment, simply captioning it as “Forever.”
Lindsay Stone is well-known among Cincinnati locals, having worked as a TV anchor at WLWT for three years. Prior to this, she was a sports reporter and anchor at WDNU in South Bend, Indiana, covering Notre Dame football. She later moved to WTTV in Indianapolis before joining WLWT. Stone recently announced her departure from WLWT, scheduled for May 24, without disclosing her next professional move.
Abbott’s connection with Cincinnati is further rooted in his four-year career with the Reds. The 26-year-old pitcher shone last season, achieving his first All-Star selection with a 10-7 record and a 2.87 ERA over 166 1/3 innings. This performance led to Abbott being named the Reds’ Opening Day starter this season.
This year, Abbott has faced challenges but has shown resilience in his recent performances. Over 11 starts, he holds a 4-2 record with a 3.97 ERA. However, command issues have surfaced with 26 walks and 38 strikeouts. Lately, Abbott has improved significantly, achieving a 4-0 record with a 1.29 ERA and 19 strikeouts in his last five outings.
The couple’s engagement and Abbott’s promising season have captured the attention of fans, highlighting pivotal moments both on and off the field.
