The nation’s leading federal law official is under scrutiny for recent political engagements. With only five weeks remaining until the midterm elections, Attorney General Todd Blanche’s actions have raised concerns among some experts about maintaining the Department of Justice’s impartiality.
Justice correspondent Ali Rogin reports on these developments. Rogin, a correspondent for PBS NewsHour, focuses on the Supreme Court and America’s judicial issues. She earned a Peabody Award in 2021 for her work highlighting the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the NewsHour series.
In addition to the Peabody Award, Rogin holds two Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association. Her contributions have also been recognized with Emmy nominations, including coverage of significant events such as the collapse of ISIS in 2020, the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017, President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2014, and the 2010 midterm elections.
