A Turbulent Day Unfolds
Bailey Zimmerman, a country singer, experienced a chaotic sequence of events during his recent visit to Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The day included a round of golf, a disrupted soundcheck, and a canceled concert, eventually leading to criminal charges.
From Golf to Allegations
Zimmerman began his day golfing at the Sandia Resort. Later, he returned to the hotel with his entourage. According to police, Zimmerman and his group were seen smoking a shared cigarette, with Zimmerman allegedly burning band members who laughed off the incident. The group then proceeded to his hotel room.
Chaotic Soundcheck
At the amphitheater for soundcheck, Zimmerman allegedly appeared under the influence, displaying anger toward his band and manager. Surveillance footage showed him throwing microphones, toppling equipment, and shoving a guitarist. Efforts to calm him were reportedly in vain.
Post-Soundcheck Turmoil
Zimmerman left the soundcheck after 44 minutes. He was seen exiting the venue, expressing displeasure over the color of his vehicle before getting in. Upon returning to the hotel, he stumbled, lost a shoe, and struggled to maintain balance.
Concert Cancellation
The singer canceled his concert, citing illness. On Instagram, Zimmerman apologized for rescheduling shows, expressing disappointment at letting fans down and emphasizing the need to care for his health.
Property Damage and Charges
Sandia Police later reported over $16,000 in damage to Zimmerman’s hotel room and $400 in unpaid alcohol charges. Damage included a broken television, missing chairs, stained carpet, and damaged walls. A felony charge of criminal damage and a misdemeanor charge were filed against Zimmerman.
Resort’s Response
Following the incident, the resort asked Zimmerman’s group to leave. Initially resistant, Zimmerman eventually complied and was escorted off the property by Sandia Police.
Legal Consequences
A judge signed an arrest warrant for Zimmerman with a “no bond hold,” requiring a judicial appearance before potential release. The singer has been charged with felony criminal damage and a misdemeanor for obtaining services falsely.
Zimmerman’s Apology
Zimmerman issued a public apology, acknowledging his actions and expressing regret to the Sandia community and his fans. He promised accountability and personal growth, appreciating the support and understanding from his audience.
